Our vessel is the “MV Lormar”, a 43 feet purpose built charter timber fishing vessel made of from oregon pine and spotted gum which has been operating for over twenty years. She is strong, reliable and still going strong, serving recreational anglers and pleasure cruisers in and around Sydney Harbour.
The vessel is equipped with brand new fishing equipment (as at October 2020) from the top brands so that you will have everything you need to handle the fish which inhabit the reefs. Our vessel is licenced to take up to 17 customers fishing, or 49 customers cruising. If you have a smaller group (for example 8 to 12 persons), you are also very welcome and will benefit from plenty of extra room on deck for a perfect and comfortable trip.
Our Vessel: The Lormar
Our skipper: Shane Dwyer
The skipper and master of the vessel is Shane Dwyer, a highly experienced angler who has twenty years experience fishing in and around Sydney. Shane is qualified as a Master V and Marine Engine Driver, and he has successfully participated in a long list of game and sportfishing tournaments in Sydney. For 20 years he has held (and still holds) the junior NSW record for striped marlin in NSW (Line class 15). Shane’s knowledge of the local waters is second to none and is the perfect fishing guide for your charter. Shane and the crew know all the best fishing ground locations to ensure that you have the best chance of experiencing Sydney reef fishing to the fullest.
Shane joined by Andrew, a co-owner, coxswain and deckhand who will be there to help make the charter comfortable and enjoyable, and who will assist with on-deck services.
Whilst Shane and Andrew are our regular crew (and owners of the vessel), on rare occasions your charter may be crewed by an alternative skipper or deckhand with equivalent skills and experience, and only in exceptional cases. You can rest assured that we only engage the best and your charter will be professionally handled at all times. In all normal and standard cases, your charter will be crewed by Shane and Andrew.
